Pono: Shipping The Right Way
At Nani Shells, we believe in taking care of our planet and oceans, and we’re always looking for ways to make more thoughtful choices throughout our production and packaging process.
Our jewelry is packaged in plastic-free, off-white paper slider boxes, and our shipments are sent in compostable bubble mailers. The protective polymer fill inside our jewelry boxes is not made from natural materials, and we believe in being transparent about that. We’re continually looking for better alternatives as they become available.
Tash has worked thoughtfully to reduce unnecessary plastic and harmful ingredients throughout the jewelry-making process. She even creates her own non-toxic jewelry burnishing cleaner, which is used to clean and polish pieces after they have been soldered with fire.
We know there is no such thing as a perfectly sustainable business, but we believe that making better choices where we can—and continuing to improve—is worth doing. Our goal is to create beautiful jewelry while being mindful of the materials and processes behind each piece.
